Q: How does StreetSync Desktop work in conjunction with Microsoft MapPoint?

A: StreetSync uses Microsoft MapPoint as an embedded mapping and geographic tool.  The power and flexibility of MapPoint allows for visualization of data via nationwide frequently-updated routable street data.  StreetSync requires the latest version of MapPoint to be installed in order to function.

Q: How does StreetSync Desktop enhance the existing routing capabilities of MapPoint?

A: Unlike MapPoint, StreetSync allows you to maintain and route multiple vehicles simultaneously.  StreetSync is able to take all your customer stops and divide them into geographically 'clustered' work partitions that each have optimized stop sequences.  StreetSync can also maintain a customer database.  There are numerous additional advantages.  Please contact us for more information.

Q: How can I get my customer information in and out of StreetSync Desktop?

A: StreetSync has easy-to-use wizards for both importing and exporting data.  Our program is Microsoft Excel-friendly and also imports from Microsoft Access databases.  Formats such as .txt, .dbf. and more are also supported.  You may wish to view our sample user guide chapter to see how easy it is to export data to Excel.

Q: Can StreetSync Basic routes be exported to my field personnel for use in handhelds and/or navigation devices?

A: Yes.  StreetSync is able to export built routes to various devices such as certain Garmin devices, certain TomTom devices, and TomTom Business Solutions devices.  Via a simple wizard, you're able to load each device with one or more route files for that driver.  The driver can then follow that pre-loaded route itinerary and won't need to key-in addresses manually, worry about the efficiency of their stop sequencing, etc.  Please note that certain navigation devices are able to accept route files, while others can't.  Please contact us for additional information.  RouteSolutions is also a partner of TomTom Business Solutions.  TomTom offers special devices from their Business Solutions group and these devices offer additional internal components and therefore have additional capabilities such as vehicle tracking, sending work orders to/from devices, sending real-time 2-way messages, etc.
